Based in Hunchun, China, the Hunchun Special Education School meets the educational needs of physically and mentally handicapped children. There are one hundred and eleven students from the ages of seven to seventeen with fifty teachers and eight general workers. In addition to the regular curriculum, vocational training is offered in order to prepare students for careers in the fields of baking, sewing, carpentry, and hairdressing. Sixty children reside on campus in Gilmour Hall (dedicated in July 2004), which has a library, medical clinic, physical rehabilitation center, kitchen and dining facilities. To meet the physical needs of the children, there is a full time doctor and a physical therapist on staff.
